OUR PRACTICE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING SERVICES:

Insurance scheduling and damage or loss appraisals. Most insurance carriers require appraisals for scheduling objects of art over a certain dollar threshold on an insurance policy or rider.  An ethically and appropriately developed appraisal can be an important factor in protection of your assets and recovery of the Replacement Value (or other value as defined by state law or the contract) in the event of damage or loss.

Tax appraisals for charitable donation, estate planning, estate tax and equitable distribution.  The Internal Code and Regulations require determination of Fair Market Value under the Internal Revenue Code Regulations for these issues. The Internal Revenue Service and increasingly the Congress are concerned about the professional qualifications of appraisers and the technical content, professionalism and ethics of the reports submitted to the IRS.

Consultations.  Even when there is no imminent event or transaction, an Opinion of Value can assist a client in making decisions on managing assets, such as creating or editing a collection or downsizing in the event of a move or other
life change.

Research.  Research projects are customized to the client’s requirements, as by example, genealogical research related to documentation of a provenance or documentation of a company’s historical objects or advertising.
