The Educated Eye Appraisals is a full service appraisal and consultation firm in Washington, DC.  Our services generally focus on American, British and Continental furniture and decorative arts.  Our antique appraiser, Jill Kent, has handled furniture, including Asian items, clocks, ceramics, fine arts, silver and other metals, Americana, folk art, Native American objects, samplers, decoys, lace, lighting, architectural elements and objects once owned by Presidents Washington and Jefferson.

Our antique appraiser, Jill Kent holds a certificate in Fine and Decorative Arts from the George Washington University, where she also earned a JD and an LLM (Taxation). Ms Kent graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA in Art History and Classical Studies. She is an Accredited Member of the International Society of Appraisers (ISA). She has passed six national examinations in appraisal methodology and practice.  She re-qualified for the Uniform Standards of Appraisal Practice (USPAP) in November 2007.  USPAP sets out the technical and ethical requirements for professional appraisal practice.
